The Snag in Time

Time has changed, and many have gone,
Life goes on, but it feels like a pawn
In comparison to the bastion of life
I once had; that life so full, so rife
With little problems and bickering people
That caused me to look through the peep hole
Of another's study to glean my prize,
Which was to see what no others eyes
Had seen, not another set of ears heard;
To see and hear the fulfillment of the word.
Yet suffering bored me, and became me not,
I often found that I was at the door caught;
For my interests were not pure of heart,
And they caught me before I could start.
