What doth Fire Cast?

A fire sparks from underneath, the shadow
Passes and the night doth cease. O to row
Down the lanes of memory, O to bowl
Down groves of ash trees, such is fire's own soul.
But what of the one who has fire within?
Doth he, or she, contain knowledge of Him?
And who is he, that fiery specter
That wields always a heavenly scepter?
Within His sight shadows, indeed, decrease;
As a sheep body wanes when he is fleeced.
You then who bear the spirit of red fire,
Remember to curb your wayward desire.
Yet in him you will find your fire is clear,
that you may see with the eyes of a sear.
