Phasing Evil

Straight and Narrow is often through a maze;
So must you bear low taunts as men do tase
Brazenly your waning frame, seek to take
Forcibly your very name. Yet awake,
Rouse! Lift up every fiber of bodily
Strength left in you! That you may heartily
Overcome the evil, and subdue it
To the till, the yoke which it deserves so;
Be certain that if it has any wit
It shall flee from you for a while, although
It shall never be full gone. Procure
For yourself then a modest fee, for such
Bravery as is displayed by future
Deeds made bold in the light, histories touch,
Make the straight and narrow no more a maze
Than a highway; your fears are but a phase.
