Heaven's Gate

Far away are you to me, but further
Still from me is the sea! Collide with fates
Shuddering hands, must true loves flame murder,
Forget you I must if you do not relate
To my letters, sent by starlight, heavens gate!
Yet though you are far from the sea, in east
Skies set ablaze with fire so fierce, and I
As far to the west from the sea, great beasts
Could not keep me from my quest; I should die
Than to leave you alone in the skies! Would
You deign to vouchsafe a word with me love?
To put forth your starlit hand, your white glove;
That with this favor and gentle remiss,
I'll have hope to savor your gentle kiss?
