Second Death

13) Praying for a second chance, as I lay
Helpless, core exposed, rancid in these clothes,
I wait upon you; closed off by the bow
You carry upon your back. Did you seek
To rendezvous with my corpse? Why so bleak?
Are but a few seconds hopes from my meek
And frail frame all you desire? Try
This mail clad soul, for the fire I
Did escape whole; woe to your petty scheme,
for such doleful stares cannot rectify dreams,
Will not raise such cares as dead men from your
Shoulders, as is he whom I did obscure.
So, hot with thirst, unable to move, I
Wait for your vengeance; my spirit to fly.
