The Cost

Leave behind you that dark form of evil
That clothes you with hidden passion still. No
Good will come should you abstain good; throw
My counsel into the dust, down the drain!
For though you crave the light you see it not
In your arrogance and pride; for you thought
To purchase light as the cost of others,
Mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers. Ought
Not the light to be a transformation
A great feat? a holy consummation
To what is right and just? But you do now
Consume what you desire in order
To appease evil's fires. You border
The ring of doom by your order's of gloom.
